I am so excited finding this beauty at the alliances cemetery.
Shall I go ahead and bring her home?

That looks like a rare find!

Seems to me like they borrowed some ideas from KitchenAid.

Me too. First time I see enamel interior in Greece.
Where could it be imported from?
USA?

It had a small sticker saying “smalto”
that means enamel in Italian.

Do you thing I should bring it home?

What an odd combination...clearly a KA from the very early 70s.

They certainly borrowed some design elements from KA, but it differently is not in any way built by KA, there is nothing that is the same as KAs DWs. from the 70s.

Sure bring it home if possible.

John L.

Did it die? Looks like it has some Hobart elements in its design.

I suspect this may be an early 1970s Philco machine - its the door catch and the 4 sweep arm that calls out Kitchen Aid, but I remember the Philco (and its nearly 50 years) seemed to have a similar sort of mechanism although the outside catch was different. It was not unknown for dishwashers to have an enamelled tub at the time. I wonder if it is, apparently, missing a spray arm under the upper rack.

If it were me I woudl definately be bringing it home!

And here’s a video of that same machine running with a plexiglass panel, showing the “magic” inside.

Thank you for your replies.
I had a feeling that it had something to do with Italy.

Until now I believed that the filter was missing but from what I see at the video simply it is designed with no filter.

Best, D.

Well that's interesting. Didn't know Westinghouse borrowed from KA. I was expecting to see a "bowtie" impeller, and the racks are clearly KA influenced. Interesting.

Did you save it?

Barry
