I watched this Batchelor Father episode today (on YouTube - MidCentury Pictures channel). It was episode #149 - "Kelly, The Home Executive".
She is preparing a fancy dinner for her soon-to-be in-laws and puts a roast on top of this "washer".
(For some reason, she opens the top lid which is not shown in this picture).
The dog (Jasper) pushes it into the "washer" and it ends up in the bottom part tumbling around.
I'm guessing this is nothing but a prop. Is it or was this a real machine?
The glass door looks like Whirlpool or Westinghouse.
????

Westinghouse Spacemate washer rigged with possibly a Whirlpool toploader deck on top.

There's no way a machine could be designed and operate the way it's shown.  :-)

Why didn't she leave the cooking to Peter? He had the Hotpoint wall oven and microwave wall oven out in the kitchen.
