I decided that I do not want to keep my old washer, and offering it free, to anyone who wants to pick it up. It needs a new motor, and brake pads are relatively ineffective. I replaced this machine with a new Speed Queen last October, and kept the old one, intending to get a motor. I changed my mind. I also have what appears to be a replacement transmission. Water restrictor on fill hose has been removed.

If interested, reply here; better still, send me an email. Located in Springfield, Mass.

Did you say replacement transmission? I'm desperate for a transmission!

Yes, I have an additional used transmission. I will take a picture of it and post.

Wow! The washer that transmission came out of must have leaked through the seal for years to rust the bearing that bad.

The transmission pictured was given to me; it is not from my complete machine (which has not leaked in 28 years).

I wish John lived in LA.
I'm desperate to save my SQ Ultra-mate and keep all my washers looking like they just left the factory...

But I live in the land of "plastic surgery" and fake porcelain smiles. Every possible way I went it's always the same story "I'm sorry, we don't want to deal with old junk and also they're destroying the planet and making you waste too much money on water and electricity. We don't touch machines older than 5 years because of the liability. But I can get you a discount on a brand new washer and then i can repair it for you (if it's younger than 5 years).

Hi Thomas, all you have to do is take the guts out of your SQ Marathon to save the SQ UM, its not like any of us need two of the same machines in our laundry rooms.

But I want to keep the Marathon too.

And if I'm lucky enough, someday find the TOL electronic control panel just like the one I just discovered exists on a different thread (actually that one is free, but freaking far from me).

Other thing I'd love to discover is a way to keep the washer open and the light off... I'll probably have to find a discrete place to put a microswitch, so I can keep the washer open when not in use (and not unplugging the washer).
