I have a 2002 era Whirlpool Calypso gas dryer that needs a new home. I recently cleaned and serviced the inside and replaced the drive belt, idler wheel and the 4 roller wheels on the drum.

Then the dreaded control panel does not light up issue popped up. All the buttons pass the diode test meter test from the paper under the hood so I sent the control board off to be repaired. It came back with a couple new relays and unfortunately it still didn't work.

So it is down to the touch control panel. I have spent a bunch of time with it and I believe I have tracked the problem down to potentially a bad surface mount component in the circuit that is allowing too much voltage back to the control board and shutting it down. I have contemplated wiring up a new control panel with actual buttons that would last virtually forever but I just don't have the time. It's about 18 push buttons, 45 LEDs and maybe 6 capacitors(? I'm not sure that's what they are but they are tiny!).

This has been over a month and the wife is way over this and insists that we get a new dryer.

This was working fine until this happened and I hate to see it junked but it has to go to make room for a new dryer. Unless someone has a touch control for it they could spare.

The dryer is in North / Central New Jersey.

Thanks for looking.
