Nice picture.  What's the button looking thingie on the backsplash above the dishwasher?

Is the vent for the built-in drain airgap, this is not part of the DW, you did not  see these in most parts of the country, however we have fairly strict plumbing codes in Maryland and DAGs were required her on BI DWs.

I couldn't tell if it was maybe a switch for a disposal or something like that.  I've never lived anywhere that required the air gap so I've never had to deal with one.
