Hello!
Over the past month my main dryer which is a 1960 maytag 642C has not been shutting off properly. I am led to believe that this has to do with the moisture control. I replaced the board thanks to Lorain furniture, and still I’m having issues with the timer not advancing when in “wash n wear” and “normal fabrics” The timer itself works when set to the timed dry or air fluff and seems to “advance” when set passed one click in the normal fabrics setting (clothes come out wet). but seems to be stuck with the other settings as well . All contacts have been cleaned, timer motor lubricated, and the dryer has been Completely torn down and cleaned out and lubricated too. Another thing I have noticed is that the relay on the board doesn’t click into place when I start the dryer but if I push it, it stays on. I do also know that there is a carbon brush that is supposed to ride along the brass slip ring on the rear of the drum. I’m kind of dumbfounded at the moment and I am wondering if anyone has some tips and pointers to get this working properly again.
