got this one today-related to a thread on here earlier this year.Worn bushing on the motor,rotor drags.If I can't repair or replace the original motor,i have a motor with top-mounted pump from a 1990 FD"Horizon 2000" that might be adaptable to the westy.Washer is in white with blue ramp agitator and waterfall filter:)

Keep an eye out for a vintage GE Filter-Flo.  They offer lint removal that's beyond compare, and probably aren't much louder when operating than your Westinghouse was.  I snagged an '80s machine for friends who had two dogs and its filter pan was always full of fur.

 

Here's a link to a video that I suppose is as good as any to indicate filtering capability on even a small load (FF to to around 5:00 to see what's in the filter pan) in a household that appears not to include any dogs or cats:
