An NOS one would be dreamy, but good used is fine. I think these same compressors were used in vending machines often.

The Frigidaire Service Replacement P/N: 5901839
The number on the tag, on the stuck compressor is: 5901103

The fridge model number is FPI-16B-64

If you need a visual, it is this:

Also any leads, as to who I might call for this are most appreciated.

Cheers!

I think on-line searches will be your best bet.  I hope this isn't your daily driver, because it might be a while before you find a replacement.  I also hope you have the tools and skills to make the swap yourself because you'll likely spend the rest of your life trying to track down someone who is willing and able to do the job for you.

An alternative may be a brand new Embraco compressor with compatible specs.  Those are readily available through any number of sources.

It is soon to be the DD... I have an absolutely STELLAR functioning "twin" to the fridge, but it is pretty roachy... I was hoping to find a compressor, so I wont have muster up the heart to axe the functioning unit.

Yes, I am fully equipped with everything needed to do this myself.

I am told that piston compressors will not function satisfactorily, due to the extremely long cap tube incorporated into the rotary design. I'd much rather not reinvent the wheel, and I'm a purist anyway.

You can use a piston compressor, The capillary tube has nothing to due with the compressor type.

Or if you want to be a purest, use a WP rotary compressor from a pre 1985 WP built refrigerator, WPs rotary was a better quite compressor than FDs anyway.

Thanks John!

Any idea on a pre-85 WP Fridge model number I could use, or maybe a compressor p/n?

Thanks!!
