set from day one! Brand new too! The washer was a floor model, and turquoise. So a good buy. The dryer white, on sale, and in a box. A dryer usually outlasted a washer, so many had unmatched ones. |

Do y'all think that the washer could be a Frigidaire? |

I grew up with mismatched ones as well. A 1962 Frigidaire Custom Deluxe washer and a mid 50s Maytag dryer. My Mom says they bought the Maytag dryer new along with two other neighbors so they could share use of the dryer and not have to hang things on the clothes line. My Mom hated the washer...she kept a large wooden spoon handy to push the clothes down. She must have not read the loading instructions..!
