So, the LG was a really ok dryer.
Efficent, thourough. Goode sensing, good filtration.

Perfectly adaquate.

But I had the feeling it was litte rough on clothing.
Temperaturewise it was perfectly fine, but especially on my shirts I was noticing roughing of the surface.

Then I got the Samsung washer thinking it was that, but not so apparently.

I was thinking about getting a cheap A+++ dryer, but we had an offer on at work so I got a decent enough deal on this dryer.

During the same offer I put matching washer on order which is in store right now, and I just keep resetting the pick up date further and further back.
I'll get that once the LG's are sold.

And what's to say about this?

Well, it is still PerfectDry.
Not much to say about that.

When selecting an appropiate cycle, everything comes out pretty much perfectly.

I went with the older 640 vs the matchin ModernLife model which would be a 1-1 match because this has the Jeans cycle which is still just beyond anything.
I know on the normal dryers Jeans used to be a verry delicate temperature stepping with a long and low post dry stage that would drive out the moisture from seams and such without overdrying.
How it works here I have no idea, but is pretty much the same.

One thing of course different is that when you take the clothing out of the dryer still warm it still has that odd slightly damp feeling to it that totaly vanishes once it's cooled down.

Creasing is once again slightly more then a heated condenser dryer, but still not terrible.

The EasyCare cycle still underdries pure synthetic loads - like any dryer - even with the dryness adjustment set way up.

The first couple of times it sounded loud, but then the brushes for the sensor bar in the paddle and probably the drum bearings (dunno if that uses rollers or felts or bearings or combination?) calmed down and it is far less jarring now.

And it isn't as quiet as some at 66db rated.
When you are in the bathroom here it certainly is a room filling sound.
But pleasant.

Not much of compressor noise, and certainly better then the LG with its cooling fan.
The LG cooling fan was the noisiest part about the dryer and would cycle continously at random.

Some odd quirks:

There is not a single seal for the fluff filters.
The upper two just slot in, the lower one just rests against a lip and makes contact.
Verry easy to clean though.

I set the cooling target tempt to 50C which on average gives me 10min of cooldown, which is fine.
But without it most cycles just don't cool down at all.

It is suprisingly quick. Not fast, but my shirts load is dried cupboard dry in an hour.

The bedding cycle dosen't really tangle terribly with most loads, but if you run bigger loads extra dry is recomendable.
Creasing still isn't good - but I guess that will just be that with my bedding.

The Delicate Plus option seems to lower the drying target ever so slightly which makes it quite useless with many cycles, but I never felt the need for it so far temperature wise.

I seem to have a slight panel alingment issue for my condenser dryer door.
Not yet sure if I'll be doing something about it.

General consensus:

When I got the Samsung I realised one thing:
Miele is just better.

See, a Samsung QuickDrive costs about 800€ with the 8kg drum and 1400rpm spin.
For not much more I can get a simmilar Miele with PowerWash.
Or with TwinDos.

At my work, if you want an extended warranty on a 800€ washer, it is 120€ for 5 years.
For a Miele it is 200€ - for 10 years.

And the Miele just is better.
Not by much, and maybe not in every regard.

But take my DW for example.
The racks feel far mor substantial, the door feels way higher quality.
It is more efficent then basicly any DW and it's 1h was is actually 1h with a fulload.

Now granted:
If you use it like me and want more efficency then speed, it will be slower then most.
It's drying system just isn't Zeolith.

And if you pay for it full price an A+++ DW just isn't cheap with Miele.

But if you think 2-3h is to long, just slap in the extra clean option and use QuickPowerWash.
Gives you prerinse, mainwash at 65C, heated rinse and 65C final rinse with a short drying sequence.
All that in 1:20 usually. 14l of water depending, and like 1.3kWh or there abouts.
Add extra drying and the final rinse jumps up a couple of degereese and the dryings is like 5-10min longer.
It ends the cycle before AutoOpen is activated with the fan is still running.
So if you are there and need your dishes, just open and switch off for flash drying.
If not, it waits for the AutoOpen go and shuts off once the fan has stopped.

Way better then any other 1h wash I know.

Same with the washer.
And the dryer.

Over the longterm, I'll be switching over to Miele fully.

As long as you are in a region where service is decent (basicly the entirety of Europe) and you get them on a good deal I see no point not to.
It is expensive and it is a not insignificant upfront cost - but broken down to it I don't see a much cheaper and hazzle free way to that performance.

Henene,

This is a nice looking dryer; a heat pump model is that correct?

I just bought that exact dryer too a couple of weeks ago to replace a 10yr old vented Miele. I dry 10-14 loads a week so I decided a heat-pump would probably pay for itself eventually. I’m very pleased with it so far, but it did take a bit of getting used to that initial damp feeling you mention and how warm the clothes are at the end, after years with a vented dryer.

I have a miele heat pump too! The initial damp feeling is weird, still haven't really gotten used to that. I adjusted the drying levels up to max and even then I have to use extra dry waaay more than on my old vented model. Only light bits get done on normal. I don't have normal plus which might have been good.
The Express cycle as well, only good for the lightest things.
Am I the only person who doesn't get the minimum iron cycle on the dryers? I use it quite a bit on my washing machine for synthetics but on the dryer nothing comes out of that cycle dry enough.
Oh and my dryers estimations of drying time at the beginning of the cycle is usually off, can be in both directions.
I dont particularly like cleaning the plinth filter.
Oh apart from that I love it haha.
