I've never heard of this brand before.  Clearly, they're marketed for trophy kitchens.  Why do I get the feeling that they're about as good at doing their job as my Gaggenaeau cooktop and oven?

More pix in the linked ad.  Here's the URL for the manufacturer's site:  https://home.liebherr.com/en/usa/ncsa/home/homepage-ncsa.html

Ja,

Schweitz quality! The last stand alone (hausgerate) major aplliance maker, I think. They also make heavy construction cranes, and shipping container reach stackers, etc.

all refrigeration appliances for Miele. At least that's what the Engineer told me when fixing the DW.

Liebherr refrigerators

Hi Ralph , you are about right about these being overpriced junk.

The only real appeal is they fit into a kitchen well being counter depth.

They are full of cheap plastic parts that break [ like the plastic ends on the ref door shelves that are missing on this one ]

The IMs never work or work for long.

In the US the Miele refs are built in New Jersey by someone else, they are a much heavier design but loaded with problems.

If you want a decent BI refrigerator get a Sub-Zero or Kitchenaid, skip the GEs and Vikings.

Liebherr makes a lot of fridges for Miele, not sure if they make them all.

Liebherr makes good fridges and freezers, it's a popular brand here and gets good reviews. But perhaps it's not wise to buy European stuff when you live in North America, like it's certainly not wise to buy American white goods when you live in Europe. Service will always be more an issue than with appliances from your own continent

I was wondering why you would consider this fridge, while you're not happy with your Gaggenau oven.

$750.- is quite a lot of money for a used fridge, especially since it says it is an older fridge.

Oh, not to worry.  I'm not interested in this fridge at all.  It's too big and I love my KA SxS.  It just popped up when I was cruising CL for a possible drinks fridge to replace my '52 Kelvinator that's missing some interior parts, which limits usable space.

BTW Sub Zero

foraloysius's profile picture
Liebherr and Sub Zero are playing in another part of the market. Liebherr in Europe is much cheaper than Sub Zero in the USA, I think that is the only right way to compare. The cheapest Sub Zero "over and under" is over $8000.-. Liebherr sells similar models overhere in the range from 1749 - 2349 euros. ($2127.- - $2857.-) so Sub Zero is around 4x the price of a Liebherr. And those are the to European standards oversized models. A normal Liebherr bottom mount fridge freezer costs less than 1000 Euros here. That's a reasonable price for a fridge.
