Since the thread about dishwasher pods has got quite a bit of discussion I thought I’d see what everyone thought of their cousin the laundry pod. The main argument presented in the video doesn’t apply to the laundry side since most users don’t prewash their laundry. My only gripe about them is that you can’t dose them at all. In the dishwasher I generally run consistently sized loads so it’s no issue there, but in the laundry I run loads from just a few items to a whole drum full, one pack or way too much for a few things but not enough for a full load. Also I adjust the dosing based on soil level too.

I keep a box of Tide powder on hand for small loads, the rest get 1 on average pod. Occasionally I toss in 2 for a large load. Been using pods for years now and am quite happy with the results. Pick then up on sale so the price is very reasonable for Tide products.

Since DH couldn't stop overdosing the Asko and Miele FL's, I went with Tide turbo pods and we are happy.  I bought some Boardwalk powder to use on our whites with Clorox and that has worked well too...it's low sudsing.

They work fine in most but not all front loaders. Some will tend to fling the half dissolved pod onto the door seal / boot.

I can't say as I've ever tried them, and had I they would have been a free sample long ago and long forgotten.  We each do our own laundry. I adjust the amount of detergent, erring to the side of less is more, whenever I do my wash and have rarely filled the dispenser to the Max position.  On the other hand Larry does no such thing and fills it to the Max with no thought. He does the same with the fabric softener. I use little to no liquid fabric softener generally though I have been adding a very little amount during this cold spell to ward off static, along with a half a bounce type sheet.

I tend to do smaller loads most often and feel I'd been wasting detergent and money if I switched to pods.

I have too many clothes, I can go many weeks without doing a load. I run fairly large loads once a month or so.

I use tide power pods

and I don't have to worry about premeasuring detergent.

my mom got them for me

to help with the laundry, and they were much easier for me to manage. I don't have to worry about if I put too much or too little.
