About a year ago I was a member here, and you all helped me get my filter flo washer fixed. Not sure why but I couldn't access my previous account.

I finally got a matching (ish) dryer, and at first it needed some work. I replaced the timer and heater element with NOS parts, and it worked great for a few weeks, then the motor bearing failed. After a good bit of trouble getting the wiring correct on the new replacement motor, I finally have it and the motor is running as it should, but I have no heat!

Dryer is a DDE8508mal

I'm measuring 122v on each side of the main terminal bar at the back, I have continuity at the thermal switches on the heater element and the box behind it.

I'm not 100% sure on how to test the heating element, but grounding each side to the case gives me 122v, going from each side to center = 0v

I'm really at a loss here, and need this thing operational asap. Whatever list of things there is I can check and how, please let me know.

Nevermind... I got it figured out... Simple wiring mix up, I had 1 hooked up to G instead of 1. Works great now

Those Emerson motor replacement kits are a PIA to install when you are replacing the original GE motor, Good news is they are a lot better motor.

Yeah, I'm still getting used to working on appliances, nothing is ever exactly the same as what came out. Glad to know it's a better motor!
