I need the washer because I actually found the dryer and it’s being shipped to me so I’m very excited. So. On the hunt for the matching washer to make it complete |

From what I've seen over the years, dryers tend to last 2-3times longer than the washer and thus are easier to find.
Finding either of these models would seem like near impossible, but heay you've found the dryer. good for you. I'm sure if you're diligent enough, you'll find the washer. Will it be working? Will someone want an arm and a leg for it? But I hope you find it. It's getting hard to find belt drive WP and KM washers from the 60s - 80s and those could once be spotted everywhere. When one sees one in the wild its like a ray of hope but statistically they will continue to dwindle. |

It's funny. When I started collecting in the early 80s, if I had come across these Westys that are "THIS old", I would have thought it was junk and sent it to the scrap yard without any further consideration.
I once had to pick up a gas 1950s Kenmore frog-eye dryer (I think it's referred to) as it was part of an appliance package. It was discolored, the temp gauge was apparently shot, all sooted up, it had a 2 wire cord, and as I mentioned- it was gas. I looked at that thing and was like "JUNK, OLD junk. GET rid of it!" and off to the scrap bin it went. Couldn't go fast enough back in 1983. I..... wouldn't do that today. lol

So my 1953-54 Westinghouse dryer came and I’m excited to get going on it. Here’s a pic. Still in search for washer. Any leads would be appreciated.
