This is most likely an early version of these dishwashers. And I noticed the dial is "flipped" in a way. Wash is at the top at the "start" position. Our 1960/1961 has Dry at the top at start position. Implying this early version the timer dial rotated counter clockwise and our dishwasher, and the 1968 too, rotated clockwise.

The pointer is what turns and the writing around the dial remains static. This timer pointer turns clockwise. |
