Hello team
Long story short my husbands family decided to let us manage their beach house and try to convert it it to short term rental so it can at least cover its own costs (taxes utilities repairs etc).

Everything got updated few years ago.
The only issue is the laundry.
The house has space for a stack unit and currently there’s a GE TL which is small and horrible quality. We had many issues with that unit already ( I made another post long time ago).
His family is against FL but at this point with the amount sheets towels and blankets we definitely need a FL (it’s a 7 bedroom property).

The house is located In GA so Miele it’s out of the picture due to service and support.
SpeedQueen is also out of the picture due to the cost but also due to the lack of internal water heater.

What are the options ? I saw bestbuy has a good deal on Samsung and Amana. Any experiences ?
I’m a miele guy and we have Miele in NYC but this is not an option there.
Also how can I make sure that guests or the cleaning lady leaves the door open after using the machine?
Thanks guys
John

Front Loader

Use the money you save by not buying a SQ FL and have a custom made flashing neon sign made that reads "PLEASE LEAVE WASHER DOOR OPEN AFTER USE."  In red, and hang it where it can't be ignored.

The Amana is the equivalent to the BOL Whirlpool and does not have an internal heater.
I would suggest you contact service companies/repair companies in the area and see which brands they repair as well as brands they will not touch. LG now produces front loaders in the U.S., somewhere in the south if I remember. With LG, on the Normal cycle, Warm is cool/cold. Hot will heat the water to around 95-100 degrees. Extra hot will probably heat to 120. The Heavy Duty cycle on ex. hot may heat higher. Whites with Hot (no ex hot) will heat higher. And there's allergiene and sanitary. Bulk/bedding uses the heater too.

So we got a great deal for the Samsung set.
Yes no Sanitize cycle. Yes it’s mixing cold water when you select Hot in normal cycle.
BUT it’s great capacity washer with good spin speed and it takes straight hot water when you choose anything but normal or heavy duty.

Best FL Stack

You should be ok with the SS pair, You Do Not need heater in a FL washer to prevent mold and get clean wash.

The cleaning crews would never wait for a 2 hour heated cycle anyway, just instruct the crews to add 1/4 cup LCB to loads of towels and bedding and use the whites cycle you will be fine.

I hope these Chinese SSs were enough less money than the better American made Amana W&D.

I run a load with white towels
First impression is good.
It takes enough water to do the job. It’s quiet. It doesn’t take forever to spin. AND it does a spray rinse !!
On the negative side I tried to reverse the dryer door and the screw got stripped. This doesn’t seem to be good quality at all. I’m planning to call Samsung tomorrow

No steam option?

I like my Samsung 4.5 cu. ft. F.L.
