Hello members! I am searching for someone in Southern California area (Pasadena) who can make a house call to diagnose the problem with my vintage 1959 Hobart Kitchenaid dishwasher. It is leaking at some point during the cycle. The person who was helping me restore it has disappeared :(

I believe it is model KD-12. See photo below. Any help much appreciated. Thank you!

Where leak is coming from. If its leaking around the pump seal that's a serious issue as there are no seals available anymore unless someone here might have one.

If its leaking only when draining that would be a more fixable problem.

I'm in ohio so I'm out obviously but hopefully there will be a member here close to you who could check it.

Main front panel needs to come off so you can see what is going on.

The last guy who was helping me said it was leaking when draining. He had the panel off --

thats better than a pump leak. i have a couple of those 12's but both of mine are gravity drain if i remember correctly. pretty sure that model also came with a drain pump on some models, correct me if i'm wrong members. i'm thinking it could just be something loose, or possibly leaking around the drain valve if it's a gravity drain model.

to properly diagnose it someone will have to look at it with the panel off again and get more info. i dont see any appliance repair guys even wanting to touch it.
they usually tell you it's non repairable which may not be true.

if you don't know of a handyman type person who is good at general fixing of things plumbing related i don't have an answer unfortunately. i'm sure we have members in calif somewhere. whether they would want to look at it is another story. could you advertise locally for a fix it type person to look at it and take pics. even if we had pics of where the leak is we could possibly tell someone how to fix it.

if you decide to get another dishwasher please don't pitch this one. i'm sure someone would buy it as a parts machine or maybe even fix it. i have 2 dishwashers that came from calif that i had shipped to ohio about 10 years ago.

we really need pics of what s going on under that panel that comes off, that is the first step.

maybe that helps?
