Another simply amazing find this far into the 21st century. A beautiful low use 1957 Frigidaire Imperial Control Tower set in beautiful Charcoal Gray. The set seems to have come out of a lake vacation house/2nd home across the river in Wisconsin, north of Eau Claire. The seller claimed they were still hooked up when he found them. The only issue with the washer was a leaky water valve during fill, otherwise the machine worked perfectly and runs so smooth. The dryer too was in perfect working shape, although a water few leaks needed to be cleared up, common with older Filtrator dryers. The set is in absolutely beautiful condition.

OOOH, they look sensational!

Is the grey an original colour?

It doesn't strike me as a 1950s colour.

What colours were they available in?

Such stylish machines, nothing like that today.

Thanks everyone. Oh yes Chris, originally the 1957 set was available in Mayfair Pink, Sherwood Green, Stratford Yellow and White. Sometime in the middle of the 1957 line they introduced Charcoal Gray as well. All in lifetime porcelain inside and out!

I love your '58 pair, but have to admit the '57s look sleek and ultra-modern. Beautiful! The color is stunning.

Nice & Classy!

Excellent find, Robert; they look good with your floor and table.

Gray was a very popular color in the 50's, and frequently seen used with coral, turquoise, and chartreuse. Frigidaire had an earlier color called " Sheffield Gray" available in 1956, which is somewhat lighter. Westinghouse had "Nougat Gray" around that time.

What a simply beautiful Frigidaire pair Robert! These machines look like they would have only resided in the homes of the wealthy in their heyday. They look spectacular in you kitchen. Thanks for sharing the photos.

How amazing that a marched Charcoal control-tower was still out there and in such amazing shape!! They are gorgeous!
Chris and were talking about you the other night and how you once said, on national TV, that you had a "one in, one out" rule. Of course I stopped listening to Chris after that, but since this lovely 57 set has displaced the turquoise 58 set....LOL I can send a truck anytime that is convenient for you....laughing

That was a reality television program Paul and we know how "real" reality television is lol. I keep going back and forth with how much to keep and where I draw the line. I'm rarely indecisive with anything in life but the exception seems to be the size of my collection.

Robert, those machines look brand new!  What a fabulous score!  Congratulations!

This on the heels of Melvin's set of like-new '75 Kenmores.  July is turning out to be quite a month.  I wonder what's next.

Looking forward to seeing them in person - hopefully soon.

Amazing find! Congrats! The chrome looks brand new, no pitting at all. The owners must have kept them covered (like my grandmother did her washer and dryer when not in use.) Nice you had a NOS agitator to drop in. The color and styling of that set really was ahead of its time.

The updated agitator is pristine! How did you update it?

Hi Larry, those were all new parts I found around 15 years ago during my searches. The Lint Chaser and Circulator rings came from a old appliance parts place here in Minneapolis, the Pulsator came from Tennessee, the rubber detergent cap came from North Dakota, the Agitator/Dispenser Column came from North Carolina and the bleach cup came from Nevada.

This is what we have to do lol!

Nah.  58's were better. change them back.

What a set, new depths of DEEP competition.  Those are just spectacular, they must have been in the almost never used guest house of the rarely used vacation home.
