Was this the same company that was going to make these several years ago using a Chinese GE FL washer as their starting platform ?
In any case they are starting with a better machine, the only major problem is the tub is a little small for a dryer.
I am going to contact the company to see if we can get more service information and also offer to sign up to service these in the Maryland and DC regions.

240v model would solve many complaints of the LG, etc. 120v versions. Will be interesting to see some of the reviews once they're in homes.
If you do chat with them, John, you might offer to correct some of their "Learn" page content...

Hi Greg, Wow I did not read that far, there are already enough mistakes in the introduction pages you can tell they don't know much about the history of combos or even current appliances and electricity, LOL
When they talk about the 120 volt version as having the same cord as a table lamp and how you can install a baulky 280 pound machine anywhere they really don't have a clue.
As I have said before there is almost no market for a $3000-4000 appliance that runs on 120 volts, there is almost no homes in the US where you can't have 240 or 208 volts for a dryer.

I cannot have a 240 volt in my apartment. The fact that this is a vented dryer it should still give better results than a condenser model. The only problem I would have is where to vent - I would probably have to use a vent box which I dont know much about them. My current LG combo is in a closet.
I dont think these models are available to the market yet. I would want to see reviews and make sure their would be service in my area before I would purchase one. At times these things look better than they really are! |

Yeah, that was a problem. If I had a mixed load I'd check it every half hour and take out the lightest garments in the dryer and hang them up. It was a pain but it was faster than waiting for the whole load to be uniformly dry. |

I sent email to this company here is what I get back:
I would be interested in getting 120 volt machine - I want to know if it is necessary to be internet connected to run this unit? I wouldnt want to depend on the internet to make it work. Also I cannot vent from this laundry closet is it possible to hookup with a indoor vent kit if available. Thank you Peter Sternlieb response: Hi Peter, The internet connection is optional, not mandatory. We understand that not everybody wants to connect stuff to the internet, so the machine will work fine without connecting. There are some strong benefits, like software updates, but you could connect every once in a while to update the software, while mostly running offline. It's up to you. Indoor venting is plausible, and we run a lot of test machines without external venting. It's mostly about the moisture, and where it would go. When you dry clothes, all the moisture that was in your clothing will end up in the air, as water vapor. Than I sent a email back to them and did not get a response: Thank you are they being sold in some stores on the east coast? And is their service available in my area in New York? The fact that they didnt respond to this indicates their is no servive provided and no stores are selling it. |

The price is really eye watering and will only help keep this machine out of laundry rooms. Unlike upscale NYC apartments, most living places that are resourceful on space are also on a limited budget.
I think they need to look into bringing the price down with a simple timer model and way less features. |

I almost never get excited about modern appliances, but I can’t wait for this one! I haven’t been this happy about a modern appliance being released since the Speed Queen TC5 came out! I usually don’t bother with keeping up on today’s appliances, but this is one I’ll have to keep track of.
Repairguy… When I saw the name “marathon”, that’s exactly what I thought, too. It sure doesn’t seem like it could be a coincidence to me. chetlaham… I completely agree. There for sure needs to be a lower end model with mechanical controls at some point. I, like sever others have said would also like to see the inside of this machine. To me, it always seemed like it would be difficult to keep the water out of the dryer portion of the machine on a combo. The idea of a combo has always been intriguing to me, and I really hope that this one catches on better than the others, as it is clearly Speed Queen based. I wonder where the other parts, such as the dryer components, came from. Are they Speed Queen too? Thanks, Thatwasherguy. |

Absolutely! There has to be a no no nsense, ideally no electronics model. Just a timer with direct control of the water valves, motor, blower, heaters, dispensers, status lights and door lock. (see pic)
This is only reasonable way to put a combo in more homes. Low cost and longevity will off-set the lack of extra bells and whistles that traded off with simplicity. Regarding water I think that as long as the machine does not go into spin when filled with water, and there are channels with some baffles heading up toward the blower and heater housings I think keeping water out will be relatively fool proof. imgur.com/a/uDyil2H...
