Hi,

I was watching the Price is Right, episode of April 3,1973, on Youtube.

Janice was showing a beautiful Kelvinator set. I never saw those before, center dial console on both machines. Does anyone have better pictures of these machines?

Thanks.

Thank you.

Did WCI make the Frigidaire washers and dryers at that time ?

(They look a lot like the Gibson machines too)

They’re nice machines, PREtTY, in fact, at least in looks—I think they could use a better lint filter system and perhaps the repair record was found to drive a lot of former buyers/owners/users, even WORSHIPPERS of, over to other brands and back to Sears to put Kenmore, Maytag, Whirlpool, General Electric-family and even Norge, branded and manufactured, laundry equipment back to the top of the heap…

yeah these were not the best build for durability or longevity....

I remember the Gibson version with the plastic tub not having a big capacity even for a standard size...

and installing a belt was a PITA....

you most likely find these when the Electric or Gas/Propane company offered a deal to purchase along as a new subscriber or time payment plan added to their bill....

but still this machine has an interesting control panel

We had a Gibson washer when we first moved in. It sounded like it was coming up the stairs when it went into spin!

Went and found a HA806 Maytag on a trade in pile, and never looked back....

My grandfather had a Hamilton washing machine with the angel wing agitators made sometime in the early to mid-70s it was very close to a Gibson or Kelvinator Washer . The tub was not an indexing tub I remember that for sure so I don’t believe that this particular machine was a indexing tub in the price is right show I remember the machine being very loud when it was spinning and I broke down now my grandfather

All had indexing tubs from 1960 On,

A Hamilton washer could have been built Norge or Blackstone and would not have had an indexing wash tub.

It’s hard to take my eyes off the machines and Janice! I grew up watching these shows (only during Summer vacation) with my Mom and had such a crush on Janice. That was before I knew I was gay…LOL!
