Ikea has put all of their catalogs online, from the first one in 1950 until the last one. They are all in Swedish. Nice to browse through them though.

Thanks for finding these...kinda fun. My first experience with them was in 1988 or so upon their initial move to the US. Can't recall if it was Pittsburgh or Philadelphia.

Very neat. It's interesting to see how the early catalogs had more traditional furniture styles and transitioned to modern. I well remember the opening of the first N.American store in Richmond BC a suburb of Vancouver in 1976. I haven't been in an IKEA since we left Calgary in 2006

I browse a bit now and then too. Much to my amazement there is a vacuum in the 1976 catalogue, a Hemvac. Never heard of that brand.

Fabulous reading Louis, more than a few nights bedtime reading , my local store Warrington is nearly 35 years open , the first in the UK and still has many original staff working there 👍👍

The Hemvac looks like body of a Philips with features of the Electrolux ? I think 👍

IKEA should consider bringing back many of these early designs. They are indeed timeless.
