What's going on with the trim on the doors?  Were they inserts for coming attractions or something?  With or without them, it's a fugly failure IMO, and would look better without all of that nonsense.  

 

If it were near me, I'd figure something out because the right-hand pull is what I need, and the interior is beautiful enough to compensate for the misguided exterior treatments.

Agree that's an odd exterior trim design. For 50 bucks, though, if it was local I'd grab some help and snatch it up. I'm guessing it weighs several hundred pounds.

I'm guessing this fridge predates the introduction of side x sides. Correct me if wrong.

I totally agree with Ralph that the trim detracts from its otherwise good looks.

This is a little newer than the original SxS, which is the Kelvinator Foodarama, introduced in the mid 50's.

Some refrigerators of the 60's had trim around them to fill with decorator panels/wallpaper. That is the only thing I can think of. It also looks like it has a foot pedal, and really a massive freezer for it's age.

ok guys

Westinghouse in around 58 59 60 had removeable panels that fit in these rectangles, all different colors This is about a 58 59 or so Fantastic fridge
