It's me again LOL. I have been dealing with some things lately due to aging parents and trying keep them as independent as possible. Monday, my dad put the water hose inside the washing machine, turned it on full blast and walked outside to do yard work or something. This post is not the place to go into the entire story but when my mom found it, water was spilling over the top of the machine and the entire room was flooded. The washer will spin, but only hums when it should be agitating. The model number is 110.24962300. Can anyone help me figure out what I should check due to what happened to the machine, possible problems all this water spilling over could have created, etc. I sure do appreciate it.

My guess would be either something happened to the motor or maybe the water shorted across the wiring at the motor damaging the timer.

When you say the washer just hums when it should be washing, has the washer properly filled to the selected level and shut off ?

It sounds like the washer may not have been filling properly in the first place prompting you dad to try filling it with a hose ?

The motor is OK, if it runs to drain and spin it will run to agitate, there could be a timer problem however.
