My late husband and I purchased this set back in the early 1980's. I still feel they were/are among the most beautiful past laundry pairs out there. The washer performed very well, though we found a more gentle wash cycle was all that was needed, as this washer had a very aggressive mechanism. (Think work clothes) Since we were able to select the wash and spin speeds separately, we often chose a gentle wash, paired with a normal spin. Drawbacks of this washer were that it guzzled water and was more noisy than a 1-18. The dryer was a positive air flow design and was super speedy, keeping right up with the washer. Unfortunately, that also made for a quite linty drying process. We would disassemble the dryer every six months and vacuum all the lint out. I got transferred with my job, and gave the pair to my mom and dad.
