Hi everyone! I got my hands on a 29 year old Splendide WD-802 Comb-o-matic for our Airstream renovation project. I’m very impressed with this older machine compared to newer Splendide combo models. We opened it up- parts are mostly metal, this beast is heavy! It is made in Italy and much to my surprise, the motor is labeled Philco! I’ve seen a few of these machines with a similar look labeled as Bendix in other countries in the past.

It has required 2 repairs and we are a bit stumped with this second repair it needs. We’re trying to spend as little as possible.

The drain pump works very well, but it’s leaking. After checking the hoses and removing from the cabinet, a pressure test revealed that the ABS black chamber gasket has some friction damage from the pump motor shaft and several years of minerals in the water.

I attached a photo of this. I attached the service guide parts list as well. Part 116590746TG

Any ideas on where I could find a replacement gasket or is my best bet to replace the drain pump? I did message Splendide since it shows the pump Is still available (let's see how that goes). If it's cheaper, I'm fine with replacing the pump with another since they're interchangeable. Are there any good reliable ones you'd recommend?

Thank you for any help!

UPDATE:

I was able to contact Westland Sales (Splendide) and they no longer carry the pump, but they are shipping me a replacement impeller gasket and lubricant for it.  Repair price of $16+shipping for this near 30 year old machine.  Great support!   Now it's just time to stock up on whatever parts they might have left...

Congratulations on tracking down a spare part. These machines were sold throughout Europe for quite a few years, I bought a somewhat similar machine myself around 1990, branded Mondia and, like yours the motor was stamped Philco.

I hope you get many more years of service from your machine
