Notice your Mum has the yellow JS (Minidou / Vernel / Henkel) softener! And Persil non bio tabs! She's my kind a girl.

I don't blame her not using the Lenor in favour of that, blue Lenor smells like **** and that smells devine.

She almost looks like one of us with her stash....lol....

Almost forgot my mums Servis fridge.

At least that and the cooker are true stainless steel instead of that awful silver finish on the washer.

Like I have told you guys before Mum had the LG because she saw it on the way out of Currys and missed it on the way in.
And becasue she was told it had no motor.... LOL

If she had not of seen it we she would have had a Miele Premier like Carls :-(

IMO that would have looked better with the real chrome door to complement the appliances in the kitchen next door instead of that "plastic silver finish'....

Nick them NB tabs were mine that she begged me to leave when I left home 3 months ago.

She admitted they were very good and better than Safeway Cyclon NB.

She has not used any of them......

I was going to claim them back....

You can if you know where, and as loyal as I am to Finish because everywhere stocks the Classic tabs, Sun is my choice when I can get a source of it.

Contrary to what Jon said about them I find they clean really well and if I remeber right he said they got them from JTF Which would have meant they were the Proffessional ones.
The proffessional Sun (which is the only pro brand with Bryta to not have a built in tannin remover) ones dont have the ingredients in them to remove Tannin stains from coffee/tea cups and Industrial kitchens have to counter this with a weekly soak in a special Tannin remover.

These tabs above are the domestic ones and do have bleaching powers.

Do you have a Home and Bargain chain in Wales?

Maybe they just operate round here but you can usually get a box of 60 in there when they have them occasionally for about £4

I still use finish R/A and salt.

`Nick them NB tabs were mine that she begged me to leave when I left home 3 months ago'

PML - I just can picture the final scene....`Go, if you must, son, but do not take with you the fine, wonderous items in blue wrappers'

Nice to know where we stand in life, eh Nick. When I moved out, my Mum appeared the week after with all my junk from the loft in the car - if I wasn't there anymore, nor should there be any trace of me whatsoever.

FWIW I really like the styling in your Mum's house, lovely colours and it looks so nice and clean. I'll try and get a photo of my folks place when I go down - especially the utility area :-) BTW I always sneak a look too to see what my Mum's using - typically it's Persil NB tabs and Comfort Pure - I switched her when I met Sophie from Ariel bio tabs and Pink Comfort and she hasn't really altered it. She is a lover of Aloe Vera tabs but when Sainsburys stopped selling then she just started on the non bio like me. She's not really that bothered, but she won't use `common' things like Daz or Surf - so long as it's Persil / Ariel and Comfort she's happy.

Mum did the same loft thing with me, when Sarah and myself rented our first place with half the contents.
Then when she thought we had settled into the bought place she brought all my old school work and sentimental stuff down.

However Mum has a knack of saying something at moments like that, that want to make me burst into tears.

Yesterday she called me and mentioned with my brother gone, the house was very quiet. It was edging onto "please come back home - so I cut in with Great news about Richards (my bro) move to glasgow, great promotion! When I realised she was pining for the nest of chicks she had to be back I felt really awful.
But anyway I cant live with a certain someone in that house as you know.

Mum is pretty cool about quality when it comes to food shopping but cleaning items tend to be own label.

I cant believe she is back on Ariel though.

We had big money issues about 10 years ago when my "Father' LOL' lost his business, we nearly lost that house and weekly I witnessed my mum do a family of 5s shopping on £50.

How she managed it I dont know but we got through.

Now they have got life on track, Mum now works full time for a company who promotes various things to do with Coca Cola Pepsi etc etc they have had the money over the past 6 years to refit the kitchen. BTW that house is 18 years old and the dodgy 80s kitchen was awful. Farmhouse pine doors etc. YUK

My obsessive (which it is I admit) cleaning habits stem from Mum. There was never anything out of place as we grew up, not to say we didnt have toys everywhere but at the end of playtime we picked them all up.

Many a time I have pigged Mum off because of my Obsessiveness- I have "the eye" for things amiss and often just correct them. Mum notices and feels as though she is under scrutiny.
Now with a full time job she has laxed off perfection which I suppose is good.
but as you can see the standards are still kept with hygiene.

I am better with it now though, living with Angela is chaos LOL. we have a messy house and its not my right to tidy up as much as I want to.

Well as much as my parents dont exactly support the habit Mum can be reasonable about it.
However she still says im sad for subscribing to Good Food magazine!
I point out she is sad for being a groovy rock chick at her age!

Shes into Bon Jovi and Inxs to the point where she has all the CDs, band members drum sticks and crazy paraphanalia dotted about the house.

Parents Eh? PMSL

Think Lukes got a good un in you :-)

Oh the living room, dining room and conservatory are in ultra modern cream.

The kitchen is the most colourful room in the house.

although my old bedroom is burnt orange. I just love that colour

My example of a perfect white.

Despite the colourings this t shirt still gets a boil at 95*c.

In fact it was done in Surf without Comfort and it smells so fresh despite being Tumble dried.

The Surf scent does seem to tone down well.

Thanks for all the great pictures! I'm always impressed that so many Brits/Europeans get by with an undercounter refrigerator. I have two full-size refrigerators that are full almost all the time. (I feed a lot of people for dinner during any given week, so that makes a difference.)

Nick,

Your Mum’s kitchen looks lovely. :-)

We’re pretty tidy, too. I get my tidiness from Mum. We’re not horrible or snobbish about it, but my Mum and Nan were both very tidy.

Trouble is, what with them having to look after me, it’s not so easy these days, but the house is quite tidy and certainly hygienic (Dad’s done hygiene courses).

Carl
