Like the title says, what is this plastic strip that is in front of the gasket in the upper right hand corner of the door? Appears to be factory with two plastic pins holding it in. Since it's in front of the gasket it spits out a small amount of water on to the top of the door right where this is.

Should the gasket be on top of it? It seems to have been in front of the door for a long time and there is not one on the other side.

My KDS58 came with that and I removed it because it was leaking a bit of water. My KDS18 did not come with that, not even any holes. Sorry that I don't know more, but someone here will. Maybe it was only the convertible portables that came with it.

I remember that bit of plastic......

.....on the KDS-18 that I used to have.
I always wondered why the factory would put that there because it did indeed allow a bit of water to splash out onto the top of the control panel.
There MUST be a reason for it and I'm sure someone here will know that reason!
