Ken, I love your illustrations. Whatever you have done or however you collected these images, they're SO nice.
I don't know what this group is looking at anymore, as I have been away (due to numerous health conditions...think I'm done now). Therefore, I too wonder what is of interest these days to this group? |

Whatever "collecting" I do isn't really aimed at mechanical restoration; I'm not mechanically-inclined. I've had one 'older' Maytag that actually worked and that I had hooked up in the basement; basically all of my other purchases have served as ornaments. This particular dryer very much takes me back to our time in base housing, where we were provided a matched set of 1959 GE's one step below this one. I think our washer was a WA-650S and the dryer would have been a DA-620S (pic of this dryer attached). The 850 dryer would be close enough for me and would provide me a tangible connection to a life lived many, many years ago.
