That's not the correct bottom rack. Should be the one with the dinner plates racked down the center. That rack is for the new models marketed as "load as you like " My Superba had that type bottom rack. With the way that one holds dinner plates, they don't fit properly and KA had the loading of the bottom rack designed so the wash spray gets to the top rack better with the designed racking.

You know for some odd ball reason methinks that this pic is recycled from another posting a month or so ago...but it looks very familiar even down to the same lower rack that does not belong to this series of KA dishwashers...had one when I was growing up in Maine back in the early 80's...the KDD67 same model.

My "other mother" (was our neighbor at both the old house as well as the new house we moved to in 1961. She replaced the Westingouse dishwasher that came with her house with a KDS16 in like 1969 to 1970 or so. That dishwasher was in the house when it was sold in 2013. She told me in 2009 that the original racks had to be replaced due to them rusting out. And she didn't like the bottom rck because it was so different and I"m assumng it was similar to this rack.
