"needs a hot and cold water valve"

Oh darn, that's a deal breaker. lol

no mention about the knob not being correct or the broken glass on the panel.

It's a sweet find though.

TA700.

A shame about the glass and battle scars on the front panel.

Those 3 coil water valves are almost impossible to find now.

The only thing I can see wrong with the timer knob is the little gold center cap is missing. If someone wants to go get this I have a spare gold center cap and a Horton 221 valve I can spare. The Horton 221 valve looks just like the Maytag 201163, though it lacks the warm water temperature regulating ability. I can't help with the broken glass though. That's a bummer. Still, this is a rare machine these days in an even rarer color. Dents can be pressed out and filled and cabinets can be repainted to look new. Someone needs to step up and save it.

New Mexico, huh? I’ve thought about it but that broken glass bothers me too much for what it would cost to get it here and yes I realize the rarity. It would look good sitting beside the TDE701.

I’m sure I have a spare piece of glass if you wanna get this Melvin, then you could have a beautiful turquoise Mediocre performing Maytags.

There is good reason that Whirlpool and Kenmore washers and dryers out sold MT about 10 to one.

I know Kenmore badged Whirlpools sold so well because Sears would give credit to anybody, but I doubt the Whirlpool badged Whirlpool washers really outsold Maytag by very much at all. I'll agree that the Whirlpool dryers were superior, but when the washer only spins at 550 RPM you need a really good dryer.

You talked me into it Kenny and thanks for posting. No one seemed interested and it was still available after a couple of weeks so I decided to rescue it. I’ll create a new post for it titled TA700.

Thanks Kenny. The dryer needs a coveted door seal made of unobtanium.
