Never thought of SQ as fancy.

Years ago, when we traveled from the Milwaukee area to central WI, several times a year, we used to drive passed the Speed Queen plant in Ripon, WI. This was the 70s/80s when I was a kid and it was in order to get to the Rippin Good cookie bakery outlet store which was next door. They had more variety then, too.
Also, went to the Dairy Queen on hwy 23 on the way out of town. That closed awhile back but it was a big thing then as was the Country kitchen restaurant a few doors down from it.

Pictures:
After all this time the Dairy Queen, and all the old buildings for that matter, are barely changed. We can clearly tell this what a dairy queen.
Can we guess which pizza chain occupied the 2nd vacant building?
And the Country Kitchen, which I think that whole chain is closed down now, is almost exactly the same.

I just took the SpeedQueen plant for granted. I never thought to wonder if they had a show room or anything.

We've had many threads over years here in group on SQ's twin tub offering. Sold up north (Canada) as Simplicity brand.

Either way were a North American version of Servis UK twin tubs, minus heater. Made under license either in Ripon, Wisconsin, or Hespeler, Ontario.

Always fancied having one of those SQ twinnies. But now with Maytag wringer washer and two spin driers pretty much have same setup, just not as compact.

Went through Ripon about 2 weeks ago. Didn't see the plant, but saw the DC.
