Can any one tell me what it means when a washer leaves black spots on cloths? From what i recall this could mean a transmisson issue..

One possibility is a bad tranny water seal. Water leaking into the transmission will often displace some of the lubricant (oil is lighter than water) which will appear in the wash basket and as oil spots on the clothes.
