Hi I specialize in obsolete part remanufacturing and am up for challenges I am good at cad and can bring many parts back to production.

as I can see the door boot seal for the 1950s Westinghouse Laundromat front load washers are getting hard to find. the washers are so well made they will last forever but the rubber seal seals won't last that long

to me that part looks very simple to remake as it is even more simple then the boot seals on todays front load washers

but I need photos and measurements of the rubber boot seals to be able to make new seals for these washers

I don't believe a 60 or 70 year old appliance should be thrown away or sold for scrap just because you can't get parts for it any more if it lasted more then 50 years then it is worth repairing

I went to a museum when I was in school and saw that things were made way better 60+years ago so I don't buy hardly anything new I only buy things that are over 60 years old
I am a carpenter that repairs and uses 1940s&50s power tools and they still work as good as they did when new.

manufacturing new appliances is bad for the environment so repairing the old ones should be our only option.

Maytag HOH door gaskets

Another part grouping that would likely be of interest regarding reproduction would be the door gaskets for the Maytag Halo of Heat dryers.

Hi Adam,

I saw your comment about the Thor Automagic boot, I will have a look at who I used in the UK, I approached a company many years ago who manufactured rubber bellows for the automotive industry and they made one for me, I sent them the split one as a guide. I thought i would never be able to get my very first Automagic from 1996 into operation but it was saved and still runs perfect to this day. The repro was thinner than the original but had a good amount of stretch to it to allow for unbalanced loads.
Regards
Keith

I would also be VERY interested in a reproduction of a westinghouse door boot. I have an old broken one that might make a good template. Shoot me a message if you think that it could work.
Also, the drain pump pulley tire is another failure point of these machines and there’s nothing left out there that can replace it. I also have a broken one of these too, if it helps to make a new one.

Put me on the list, too, for the Thor Automagic boot! And I'm still looking for the dishwasher attachment, too!

Put me on the list for the Thor Automagic Boot as well

If you end up finding a reasonably good dishwasher attachment for a Thor, I would love to have one as well for my machine
