I think it's older than 1976.  By that time the grilles at the bottom weren't so tall, and the handle also appears to be an earlier '70s style.  I also question the grille being the same color as the rest of the fridge.  In my experience, they have always been either silver or black.

$500 is pretty steep, unless they're embedding the real cost of shipping in that price.   Just based on the exterior, the fridge appears to be anything but pristine, but it will still probably run forever.

Older for sure!

The handles suggest before 1967, when they had a curvature, with a smaller matching freezer handle. The bottom grille became plastic and a lower profile by the early 70's.

This refrigerator is probably from about 1968, till 70.

It was common for the high grill refrigerators to have one painted the color of the refrigerator, whirlpool started to use the low grill design around 1970 but continue to make some of these older design models for a few more years.

On the low grill models the grill was either painted black or the color of the refrigerator, I never saw a high grill in black however they were either silver or the color of the refrigerator.

Whirlpool did not use any plastic grills on their refrigerators till the 90s they were always steel up until that time, or in the case of their KitchenAid refrigerators they were extruded aluminum in the late 80s.
