 I believe the round piece is the water level trigger. The top of the agitator rises up to actuate a mercury switch in the lid. The Water Level Control dial varies the pressure required to engage the mercury switch. The lever is the off-balance trigger, engaged by the agitator top bumping it to trip and break the circuit through another mercury switch in the lid. I'm sure someone will provide a correction if any of those details are wrong. | ||
