Hey everyone! I was recently given a (kinda) vintage Maytag Jetclean dishwasher. I don’t have room to keep it, so I need to sell or donate it. That said, I have run into a couple of hurtles with this. Firstly, the door gasket is bad, so it leaks if the door doesn’t have something pressed up against it while it’s running. Secondly, it has come to my attention that the rinse aid dispenser was recalled due to a fire hazard caused by leaking. Is there any way to tell if the work was done? It’s model number is MDB4800AWA, and it’s serial number is 10648411SZ. Thanks,
Thatwasherguy. |

There is usually a sticker next to the model number tag, either around blue or green. Dot it tells you the recall was completed.
If you’re unsure, you can call whirlpool with a model and serial number and find out if it was corrected. The door latch is adjustable just loosen the screw and push it down a little bit retighten, and that should hold the door tighter and stop the leaking. These were pretty good dishwashers overall but nowhere near as good as a whirlpool powered clean, or Kenmore ultra wash standard tub machine. |
