Wow, this is a super cool washer, and it’s sunny yellow to boot! Made in December 1960.

Hopefully someone saves this gem!

Definitely 1961, with 12 lb capacity.  Like Ben says - yellow!  I wonder how far Ken is willing to ship to have this.....

This is peculiar. And a big thank-you to the Seller who posted a pic of the Rating Plate (is this one of us?).

This is in fact a 1961 V model and it is the mate to the BOL Dryer that our downstairs neighbors had/used bought in 1961. What's weird is that, as a general rule supported by information in GE's own published brochures and cut-sheets, they didn't offer cabinet colors, turquoise, yellow, pink, coppertone, in any but the two TOL-tier models, the WA-1050 and WA-950 models. So far I've now seen two of these BOL's with color cabinets, now this one which I do want, and my own Aunt Clara, which is pink and is the WA-404 V model. I guess GE didn't follow its own rules and/or used surplus painted cabinets for any models in production before fabricating new ones.

I saw another iteration of this model, in white, at my grade school, being used for the church communities' laundry, which was located, conveniently enough for me, in the Rectory basement right behind the Art Class studio. They went through 3 different Filter-Flo's during my tenure. They must have been donated because the last one was a TOL.

The price is right but will the seller be willing to coordinate a sale that requires coordination with a 3rd party shipper. So far I've been burned by this arrangement 3 times and I'd be more enthusiastic if the panel were in better condition and the machine had the original filter pan.

This one is quite BOL.  It only offers Hot and Warm wash temps (no cold, which GE began to offer in 1959), and no choice of rinse temps (presumably Warm?).

She's a looker, even if she doesn't work.

Good luck, Ken.

And she is a single speed machine so you don't have the 2 speed clutch problems.

My grandfather's sister, Rose, had this washer (in white).  She grew violets under lights in the basement so when visiting, we always had to take a tour.  This was the first GE FF I saw with the flume at 12 o'clock.  She also had a wringer washer (Maytag, I believe) and the GE saw little use.  They had a showcase of GE appliances, from the late 40's range and refrigerator, a couple of freezers and various GE smalls.  She never owned a dryer or dishwasher until they moved from the farm and into her son & d&l's home (belt drive late 70's KM pair.)

At their farm auction in the early 80's, the major appliances brought $5 each.  Heard them say the range and washers had been left, never picked up after the sale so they hauled them to the dump.

Too bad

Not me. Posting deleted, which could mean a sale or they just junked it.

If anybody copied the original Craigslist ad for this, could you re-post it?

I will post it if I find it again...that is, if it wasn't sold or just pulled to junk.
