Thank you. I was confused if it would have been a dishwasher installed across the kitchen sink. That's why I thought that maybe it was a compactor, not a dishwasher. But at first glance, it looks like a dishwasher. Thanks again. |

These were built by Amana, they are pretty rare, We have one just like this one at the Museum in Harvest Gold that is sitting in my office that I use the compact plastic bags.
These and the ISE compactors were pretty rare, we do have an ISE in the collection, I am still looking for an Alliance compactor, these were built by Alliance manufacturing in Alliance Ohio, The people who also built antenna rotors, garage door openers and lots of small motors for all kinds of appliances.
Whirlpool invented home compactors and started selling them in 1969, there were at least 9 other companies who also introduced compactors and sold them over the next 1/2 dozen years and I think that only WP is left selling this very useful appliance.
With recycling we often go as long as 1 year without having to empty ours.
