Nabbed that model right in my own back yard so to speak; 'tis a 55, but me thinks the wringer in your post is an add on because I haven't seen the full chrome until later--the 60's--but hey, we all know the surprising vagaries of Kenmore variety so maybe the full chrome deck was available that early on. Ironically, the price of mine was also 75 bucks, but since it was the last day of the estate sale, they offered 50 percent off! An unexpected surprize.
She had about four leaks up and down the interior hose--tub to pump, and I used Permatex tape for the first time with only one tiny leak remaining way up high under her skirt somewhere, and am working up the courage to go back up there. Tellingly, the leak ceases when the pump is running. Hauling those heavy wringers off and on in order to lay the machine on its back is not as easy as once was. Pictures for your enjoyment, momentarily. |
