John has one of these. John did you ever get the Varsol removed so that it could be changed from parts cleaning to dish washing? What kind of filter did it have? How well did it accommodate pots and pans? Thanks.

Hi Tom, we still have one pre-way dishwasher, it’s not the one I used to clean parts in. We had a total of three of these years ago. I parted out one, so I have enough extra parts, hopefully to keep the one we have running.

It was stored for many years out in the shed. It has been moved to the museum, awaiting restoration and installation in the wall of dishwashers.

It was a very unique engineering achievement. As far as we know it was the only gas heated dishwasher for residential use ever made. It’s quite an interesting machine.

it will be fun to hook it up and actually run some dirty dishes through it, I have identified a spot where it will be easy to run a gas line to it.

John.

Thanks, John

I read that a spark plug was used to ignite the burner and that kitchen rugs should not be placed near the grill at the bottom. I figured that saucepans could be placed over the rack pins that held glasses and cups, but did not know if there were similar pins in the bottom rack that would hold pans and skillets in place to receive the water blast.
