I'm not 100 certain myself. I recall that Maytag combos circa 1970 had no window in the door making them look like dryers. The washing machine article in a set of encyclopedias the family had in the 70s had a picture of just such a machine with the caption, "a modern washing machine". One of the Batman movies (don't recall whether it was "Batman (1989)" or "Batman Forever (1994)", had Bruce Wayne's valet doing laundry in a laundry room containing two late 60s early 70s Maytags both with doors like dryers. I have been all over the interwebs and found no image nor any screen captures of the Batman movie. Possibly AW's resident combo archivist John Lefever can set me straight or slap me down.
