Good morning fellow enthusiasts!

I just picked up a Lady Kenmore Combination Washer Dryer and I would like to fully restore it for daily use. I’m told it was fully functional when last used as little over a year ago, but the condition of the small round belt has me doubting that it was in use that recently.

At the advice of @Combo52 I have ordered eureka upright vacuum belts to replace the belt that is cracked in the photo. The V belts (part numbers in photos) I’m taking to Purvis to be matched unless someone can recommend a specific brand that works best.

I haven’t had time to parooze past threads here yet, but if anyone has any advice about things I should look for before and during the initial test drive, I’d be very grateful. I’d hate to cause any unnecessary damage to this Lady due to ignorance.

I noticed upon first inspection that it says to loosen the thumb screw before moving it…. But that was after I got it home and lord knows how the previous owners handled it. How worried should I be about that?

Thank y’all!

The machine looks to be in great shape. Also, it looks like it’s been sitting a long time

Get a pump belt on it and then dump about a gallon of hot water in it and turn it on and see what happens. There are all kinds of things it could be wrong with it and you might be lucky in the thing might actually work. Let us know what happens,

John

I believe you can use an older style of Eureka vacuum cleaner belt for the broken polyurethane belt in photo #7.

I would not worry about the drum belt or the blower belt of the mini Kenmore combos I’ve had over the past 40+ years. I’ve never replaced a belt except for the pump belt on one of these machines.

You would probably have a hard time finding a belt as good as what was used when they made this machine.

Get in touch with me when you start working on it. If you have any questions, you can email me a phone number if you like.

John.

Thanks John.

The belts will hopefully arrive in the next day or two and I'll be able to dig deeper into it this weekend.

I will email you.
