The ad shows to have been listed for 15 hours and is now marked sold. Someone wanted a house full of pink appliances. That may be the only GE washer and dryer in pink. I have the washer in white but unfortunately it has been stored in humidity for the past 25 years and is no longer in good condition.

Those are really nice; even the sink looks new. I think those GE appliances are 1964 models. |

Always loved how I wrongly thought you were a guy with a name like spacepig, but you're not. Good for you! LOL.
That is one beautiful GE. Justs nuts over the elevated control panel, so befitting the General of Electric. Thanks again for the wonderful machine you once listed here that I was able to buy. |

So.... I take it the white strips under the controls light up? Love 'em! Greg |

Whether they're A's from '65 or B's from '66. I'm betting '65 because, IIRC, that was the last year you could get Petal Pink GE appliances. |

Interesting, I guess GE spared the extra expense for different configurations. Not something Maytag would have done being as ultra conservative as they were but the late 50's-early/mid 60's were ripe with unique designs and options from other manufactures before they, too, became more conservative in order to save costs/increase profits. |

“Rare to see any automatic washer that lasted this long except possibly a Maytag that doesn’t do anything in the first place lol”.
Huh, my clothes went in dirty and came out clean in all the Maytag’s I own, I don’t know why but I must be doing something right. Always careful how many clothes I put in along with the amount of detergent I use. Next, I’ll experiment with 3 to 5 minute wash times for lightly soiled clothes and see if there’s any difference then if I were to use the full 10 minutes or so. |

These were posted to a couple of Facebook pages so maybe someone from there got them. So far, I haven't seen any new post about them but I'll be on the lookout as I'm curious who got them and if they will be selling any.
Mickey--I lol'd at your comment. I would like to change my profile name to something different, but I think that's not possible on this site--I'd have to create a whole new one which I don't want to. I apologize for blanking on it, but which appliance did I post that you ended up buying? Was it a dishwasher from an estate sale? |

Think it's a fun and punky handle, Jeannine, brining a smile to someone clicking on Spacepig
and finding out your name is Jeannine. Why not keep it since it's so edgy and wild. Pretty sure it was about three Good Fridays ago when you listed the Turquoise GM Frigidaire Spin-tube Dishwasher, one of life's chief delights. Many, many thanks. Here's a short vid of the Turq Spintubing with the door open, happily ever after: CLICK HERE TO GO TO mickeyd's LINK |

Agree on the Maytag lol, my problem with them is they absolutely stay out of balance constantly, I wouldnt trade this GE set for any new set to use every day. |

I’ve had my Maytags go off balance before but usually was an error on my behalf since I set the water level too high or washed certain items by themselves throwing the machine off balance. Maytags are good machines, it’s just they like the be in a concrete floor. Most homes out east have a raised foundation while a majority of homes here in the southwest have a concrete floor.

I appreciate your vote of keeping Spacepig as my profile name. The name I was thinking of replacing that with is Liberated Woman since it kinda does describe me, but it is also a take on my 58 turquoise GE Liberator stove which is in my profile pic.
Thanks so much for sharing that video--how awesome is that! I imagine it gets the dishes quite clean and in short order compared to 3 hour cycles of today's dishwashers. |
