Those are the nicest condition 1960 custom imperials that I have ever seen the washers in particularly barely used condition.

1960 was the last year for the large custom imperial condenser dryer, 1960 was also the last year for the narrow 25 1/2 inch width washer cabinet in 1961. They standardize both machines at 27 inches in width which is what Frigidaire stayed with until the end of General Motors, Frigidaire washers and dryers.

I know of someone who’s already contacted the seller hopefully he gets them.

It just goes to show. It’s amazing what is still out there.

It would be amazing to have seen this pair in charcoal. It was still available in that color in 1960

Judging by the photos, they probably were babied and weren’t used very much. This might sound silly, but the best way to make washers and dryers last forever is to have a extensive wardrobe of clothes to the point where you can go for weeks if not a month before having to do any laundry at all. And when it is time to do laundry, there will be a good few loads of laundry to do but if that’s once a month, can’t really complain. The original owner probably went to the laundromat to wash stuff to help reduce the wear and tear off of the machines.

Additional photos from the FB Marketplace listing. The set does look to be in pretty good shape; definitely used but not abused. You don't see the hardbound Frigidaire Repair Master very often!

The listing was marked as pending yesterday evening. Hopefully someone here saves them and posts the story!
