I went to visit my best friend who recently moved to Nashville TN for a hospital internship. His apartment had a very interesting GE dishwasher. I asked him to send me some pictures. It has the silverware basket mounted on the door like a Whirlpool does. I never saw a GE like this. He doesn’t use the dishwasher at all. I will add the inside picture when he sends it to me.

We had this dishwasher in our tenants apartment and it did quite well. The wash arms do alternate and that silverware basket can be put into the lower rack on the right side if need be. The heads of silverware need to be facing toward the the lower rack if the basket is used in the door. This dishwasher is not shy power wise. The pump maybe small but I was surprised at how much oomph it does give to the wash system. One thing though...the fine filter screen needs to be cleaned every month regardless of usage. Its a fabric filter material much like what Whirlpools use and it will start to stink if not taken care of. Also be mindful of what you leave on the items being washed since the drain opening in the sump is kinda small. The lovely tenant put dishes in without scraping and the opening clogged ///what a mess as I had to use a shop vac to drain the water out of the dishwasher and use a paperclip to pick away at the clog then run the dishwasher in a fill and drain mode to clear the clog.
But that said overall it does perform well. | ||

We have a version of that in our Palm Springs condo. Dark plastic interior, utensils either hang on the door or go on the side of the bottom rack. Cheap and noisy (the valve for the alternating wash arms is quite noisy and bangs about every 30 secs). Washes OK (especially given the hard water out there) and the fine filter gets crudded up easily (again due to the hard water)...

dishwasher cleaner Have you tried running a dishwasher cleaner through it? I am currently using Cascade Platinum dishwasher cleaner and deodorizer. It works great and smells great too. | ||

 This one looks like one I bought for my last house. It cleaned well enough; I had mixed feelings about the alternating wash arms, but really - what does it matter as long as it cleans. The control board went south after 3 years and I put it on the curb. I replaced that one with an absolute BOL GE with a mechanical timer and one option (heated dry or not).
