My friend has a maytag front loader and when she runs the clean cycle it leaks from the back or underneath. But only on that cycle. Anyone have any insight as to what is making this happen. ?

Clean Washer cycle

She may be using a product on that cycle that is too high sudsing. My old Duet would do it slightly. If there is a lot of detergent build-up, it will likely do it as well. She should try to use Citric Acid while running that cycle.

Tide Washer Cleaner generates bunches of suds in my experience with it, and the instructions state to run it on the Normal cycle, not a designated Tub Clean cycle.  Splashless and scented chlorine bleach products may also generate sudsing. Affresh does not, and Lemishine (which is citric acid) does not.

Tub Clean cycles typically fill to a higher level and run the drum at distribution speed to slosh the water around more vigorously, which increases sudsing with products that cause it, and increased possibility of leaking from the tub vent.
