Sadly that is just never going to happen.
You might find some generous member willing to pay $500 for that washer, devote time and energy to fetching the thing, then storing until a future date; all to sell it on at same or lower price later on, but one has serious doubts. First there is assumption washer is worth $500. Thus far it has not sold so either seller has unrealistic expectations (not uncommon) and or those potentially interested have their doubts. Over years a number of NIB/NOS vintage washers, dryers and dishwashers have appeared on this site. Pink Maytag W&D set, various wringer washers, a Bendix combo unit and others. Some we know who purchased because new owners chose to share, other times said appliance simply vanished off face of earth with no further information (that Bendix or whatever combo unit for a start). No offence intended but issue with suggestion is it takes a problem once had by seller (unloading that washer) and transfers it to a member. Latter will now be landed with problem of shifting that washer and hopefully making money in process or at least breaking even. Until it sells said potential member will have to store said washer so it will be sitting there haunting him or her until it's gone. A member offering to collect and hold onto washer after it has been paid for until shipping can be arranged, now that is something more likely to happen. It's been done before by members for other members and worked out well. |

Chet you’re closest to it why don’t you get it, after all, you’re right here in the USA lol
Why would anybody help an anonymous bot get this washer if you want it you’ll get it. Everybody else is done the same here. John Eichinger in Saint Paul ended up with a new late 50s Bendix combo he ended up restoring it and he still has it. John |

I don't think Jerome and other FF lovers are bots, I believe they are legit individuals with a rare gift. This washer isn't in my state. I was hoping someone living nearby could secure it before a local buyer gobbles it up, and then work out the logistics from there breaking at least even on cash. Perhaps a lofty expectation, however considering the rare gem at stake I only wish that it ends up with someone who can truly appreciate this divine beauty for decades to come.
If I lived nearby I would snatch this up immediately and sell it to a club member provided they paid or covered the transport + original seller asking price. A lot of these sellers take local pickups over having to agree to a cross country shipment.

Chet, I was talking about you you’re the one that’s totally anonymous never comes through or does anything so I can only assume you’re a bot
so it’s not close to you. Where are you? When can someone hear count on your help with anything? You can contact the seller I dare say the seller will come down on the price a lot. You can pay the seller and make it available to somebody on AW. John |

It's about an hour and a half from me. But I'm not going to buy it on speculation, that someone would then buy it from me. Most of us have limited space, and no room for storing such a transaction.
As the old saying goes, "where there's a will, there's a way" Someone who truly wants this will figure out a way to make it happen. |

Uh, no one on here has ever asked me to pickup a machine or help with a restoration. No one has ever asked me to come through with something specific. I have however answered questions, posted links and tech sheets, given advice and emailed members in private. So you can't say I've never done anything when the opportunity presented itself.
Paint which ever image you want of me, thats how the internet works today, however stop think how silly it sounds that some entity would pay someone to make a few posts a month in an obscure forum to manipulate the price on a vintage machine that comes along less than once a year. Tell me, who benefits?

Ok, lets clear the air. To anyone I've let down over the years, come forward with the promises I've broken. I'm willing to learn from the mistakes I have made.
The other accusations are uncalled for. Imagine finding what ought to be a safe place to discuss love and admiration for something only to be called names. The others on here (and really everywhere on the internet) need to stand up to cyber bullying not because it will change the perpetrators but rather stop kind people from leaving to the point the aggressors become the only ones speaking.
Second, I could make the same accusation about you on the basis you own a business that literally sells, repairs and pushes Whirlpool appliances in every single post while simultaneously knocking on anyone whom quips the slightest contradiction with anything Whirlpool corporation does. Your posts scream paid Whirlpool propaganda employee. Which technically you are... But notice until now I don't call that out because it adds nothing of value to a thread.
Lastly I do type in a way where I try to be overly civil and if that comes across as being artificial that is not my intent. No I don't have the best wording, I'm well aware of that, but none of it is out of ulterior motives or hidden objectives.
