I had that washer when I was collecting big time in 2002. Black doesn't age well. Even this pic the seams show off the dust wonderfully.

.....my September 1987 set except mine are Almond.
Both still going strong with minimal repairs (agitator dogs and dryer drum rollers).
They prove that well-designed electronic controls can have long lives!

I bought this pair in early 1985.  I was so smitten with the black!  But when I got home I did some measuring and found that the dryer was too deep for the laundry closet (located in the bathroom).  Had to go back to Sears and cancel the purchase.  The sales woman was not happy with me.

In 1993, at a later home, I bought the next version in white.  I had horrible experiences with the washer and Sears; the dryer was fine.  When the pair turned 3 and the warranty expired, I sold them and bought a new Maytag Dependable Care Plus pair.
