Hi guys

My KDS-18 has never given me any problems until today.  I started the machine and the tub filled normally but all the water leaked out over the course of around 5 minutes.  The bottom of the motor is full of water and it appears that water has been sprayed all over the place by the motor.

The machine had been sitting in my unoccupied house for a month -- hot and dry with the A/C off.  I thought the seals may have dried out and would re-seal themselves but so far it's still leaking like a sieve.

All thoughts appreciated!

Mark

Hi Mark, hopefully that should be an easy repair things like this to fail.

Seals do not dry out and fail, but it could have gotten stuck from sitting and just torn itself apart when it went to run, not a bad repair take the pump apart, carefully replace the drain impeller and seal. Hopefully you’ll be good to go.

John

Thank you, John.  Is this eBay item what I need to buy?  I don't know if it comes with the plastic gauge that I believe is required to ensure correct spacing.

Thanks,

Mark

Thank you, John.  I've now replaced the seal and drain impeller and it's working great again with no leaks.  This machine really is built like a tank!
