My sister and then-BIL picked up the largest 1961 version of this fridge in around 1976. It was humongous and had fluorescent lighting in the fresh food section. The subject fridge is I'd say a few years newer. There is no drain in the middle of the freezer floor, which means the defrost system on it is simplified and upgraded from the earlier types that used heated floors with molded channels to route the frost melt toward the drain.
It would be nice if they'd at least say if it operates properly or not. |

Looks similar to our first frig circa 1966ish. I know the handles were different and it had an ice maker. I think the lining was a pastel green as well.
I remember as a child getting up in the morning, pushing the chair over to the frig with the door open and finding a bottle of cherries in the door and having some and a tub of what I hoped was ice cream on one of the upper shelves. After I tasted it I was positively horrified to find that is was sour cream and went running to my room, leaving the door and chair in place for my parents to find when they woke up. lol |
